The Third Campaign of Sword of the Brotherhood.

Shield of the Brotherhood.

Over all ark of this story is to defeat the Primordial King, Velkynicitel; the great destroyer, the oncoming storm.

The Story begins with the PC's, Haldis Helgerchild and Lilias Eachann appearing on the site of their last battle... only 15 years have passed. The world as they knew it has been all but destroyed. However, remains of the old ways still exist and have been rebuilding.

The PC's must confront this new world.

The most surprising thing was that after Armageddon, the Primordial King Velkynicitel disappeared from known site, an impressive feat for one so colossal of epic proportions.

In the wake of his destruction in the Battle of Umirti Valley, the world had suddenly fell into a broken poverty. The economy was completely destroyed. A new one had to be formed.

The Former Kingdoms. What they have become.

Xantonia - In the battle of Umiirty Valley, General Xedicus was injured and could not function as leader                 to the Xantonian people. It was General Theago that stepped up and assumed command. He                 lead the Xantonians into a state of isolation from the rest of the world. However the Xantonian      people began to rebuild themselves and started to thrive once again. With no Crown Regent and    none of blood to take its place, the people named Theago High Ezra of the Xantonian people.           (Ezra in High Xantonian means, Protector of the Realm).

During the 15 year span, Xedicus recovered from his injury but only after months of       unconsciousness, followed by years of rehabilitation. Still he wasn't the man he used to be                 physically, so he yielded the seat of command to Theago. Theago's son David has grown into an   adult, and has been educated to be a great leader.

Penchura - Alzati Calliopa survived the Battle of Umirti Valley. She went on to bare a daughter who is now fourteen. However, with most of its military wiped out, crime shot up through the roof and the kingdom fell into the age of criminality. However, the (Gee'ara'ha) Samrajya (Sam'Rahj'yah) came by sea and conquered Mercantile to pacify the locals.

Overtly, Calliopa complied with the "Elven Empire's" wishes, though she was a ceremonial Prisoner. The Male dominate Thieves guild gained strength and formed a rebellion. They are treated as terrorists in the new order. Secretly, Calliopa has sent her daughter to the Island of Amazo with other loyal survivors to become Assassins. This is the precursor to the Alzati Assassins.

Estrada - With Haldis, the First High Queen thought to be killed in glorious battle, the Estra allow her younger brother Hjalmar, Jarl of Gudson hold, to be the next High King of Estrada. Most of the able adult population of Estrada was killed in battle during Armegeddon, however a new generation has grown into adulthood. Hjalmar used his education well and leads the people into a new era. He holds Estrada as a neutral entity in this new world.

Hjalmar has married Rayna, daughter of Azzemour and King Lycan. She has influence in the old Azzemour, and is now gaining influence with Hjalmar. The two of them now have 3 children.

Tanamura - With Queen Tessa presumed killed in battle, the peoples thought the burden of the throne would fall to Rachael. Rachael feared this as well. The burden of being sole monarch drained her. However, King Espion reemerged and resumed his role as king. He ruled with more vigor and fierceness than he did before. That is because in reality he regained his lost memory from when Diablos burned away who he was. His inner Xantonian has finally reemerged and is using it to take advantage of his title and rebuild Greater Tanamura in his own image.

Azzemour and Chelton - Both Monarchs were presumed dead in the battle, and with both kingdoms already suffering from internal struggles, their once linchpin monarchs' absence had caused both kingdoms to fall into ruin.

Uttara to the north, was largely unaffected by the Armageddon. They have since become powerful and have branched southward, claiming the lands of Chelton and Azzemour as their own. This new King of the North is barely keeping the peoples of these two once prosperous and warring nations alive.

Tanamura, while thriving, was choked over the years by the surrounding influence of Uttara. They had to eventually negotiate a treaty that allowed King Espion to be Warden of Greater Tanamura and the West but had to swear fealty to the King of the North.

Nersia - Nersia lost most of their Druids to Armegeddon, but their Xenophobic ways have allowed them to survive such a crisis. However, their lands have been occupied by Forces of the North. As such they have been retreating further into the Forrest.

Simya - Their lands have suffered the most from Armegeddon as they were the closest to the cataclysm. Since then, the Elves of the Old world have occupied them and are assisting them in rebuilding their culture... with Elven Influence.

Talea - With the new Imperial Occupation from the Elves, their way of life is being threatened. The Empire relocated several of their tribes to make room for camps and forts to fortify their position against the North.

Naradyle - The City of Naradyle has fared well overall as far as its economy. The Wizards College has been producing some exceptional Wizards and mages into the world. The United Sovereignce Council however was disbanded and the new council building was never finished. The Town hall however was finished, complete with clock tower. It houses the Warden of the South, a representative of Uttara, the Kingdom of the North. The Oracle and Forerunner has been presumed dead.

The King of the North is using the recourses of the Wizards college to his advantage. The new headmaster is a Wizard from the North, and without the powerful Gavin alive, they had little choice but to accept the new sovereignty.

New Sovereignties.

Gyaraha Samrajya (Gee'ara'ha Sam'Rahj'yah) - Nicknamed, the Elven Empire. They are from far to the south in the Old World. They now occupy the Sudland in its entirety.

Uttara - Titled, the Kingdom of the North. They have conquered everything north of the Selatan mountains over the past 15 years.

Xantonia - The Xantonian Empire. They still hold most of their land; everything west of the Xantia Mountains and everything north of the Mitte Mountains. Both the North and South have tried taking their lands from them, but they have held them at bay, both due to their military prowess and terrain advantage from the mountains.

Estrada - By far the smallest influence on the world now. However due to the terrain and position of the Kingdom, have maintained their free sovereignty. They have remained neutral to keep either the North or South from pressing their luck.

People of Importance.

Sacha and Rayna- Fraternal Twin brother and sister Bastards of King Lycan, hower have influence over the old realm of Azzemour with the occupation of the Kingdom of the North. Rayna has married Hjalmar Helger-son of Estrada to gain influence. Hjalmar knew going into this marriage it was so that each of them would gain influence over the lands. However, Rayna took things one step further... or more. The children she bore for Hjalmar are not actually his.

Rayna and Sacha are not just the offspring of King Lycan, they also have their father's blood in them. When King Lycan embraced his inner wolf, so did they, unbeknownst to the population. Ever since then, they have had a crazy notion that their blood was holy. Unlike King Lycan, they did not regain their sanity when they embraced their wolf. Instead they had a skewed sense of morality. The Twins wanted to keep their line pure, so they mated with each other and the children bore were of that incestuous relation.

Rayna and Sacha intend on weeding out Hjalmar's line and succeeding him with their own. They have taken others into their fold by converting them into Lycanthropes... or Lycans. They have formed a coven of Lycans behind the scene. They eventually want to expand their influence over Estrada and into one of the other 3 Kingdoms.

Sacha is serving as a royal envoy to the Kingdom of the North, to help keep the peace between Estrada and the North.

The King of the North - A mysterious man that rules from the North somewhere in Uttara. He is a man who rules through manipulation, negotiation and intimidation. He always pays his debts. That is the reputation he has given himself. There are always people plotting around him. Some for some against. He always makes sure he is one step ahead of them.

He places people he can use in key locations, whether they know it or not.

There is bad blood between the peoples of Xantonia and Uttara, so he doesn't associate with them. He also does not like the incursion from the Old world and wants to rid Daksina of them.

The King of the North is not above working with people of less than reputable to get what he wants... Even the Priors. He knows they do represent a potential threat, but because of the PC's they are not as influential as before and he keeps a watchful eye one them.

King Maitre Espion - Ever since he encountered Tananim, he has regained his lost memory. He feigned ignorance and kept a low profile until Armegeddon. He took command of Greater Tanamura as the formerly lost king. To solidify his claim, he married Princess Rachael, who helped him not knowing that Giles and Tessa were alive, and also not knowing of Espions true heritage. He has fathered 3 children with Rachael. An attempt to sow is oats in the land.

Now that The Kingdom of the North has claimed Greater Tanamura as its own. He is trying to find a way to gain more influence as Warden of the West and gain power once again. He grudgingly assists the King of the North keep his own people in check as well as those in Nersia.

Ezra Theago- Protector of the Realm. Theago is quite comfortable with his seat of power. He has become used to it. He has been raising his son to be the next ruler and complications arise where that might be an issue now.

He is leading the campaign to rid the world of Primordial influence, however her can. The Events 15 years ago have shown him that the world of man is corrupted beyond salvation and it needs to be purged or conquered like thousands of years ago, during the old times. He plans of using his latest weapon against the world of men. The Skretti.

Sultana Calliopa - While overtly working with her conquers, she is in covert rebellion against them. And while she has no taste for the Samrajya, she does not like the way the Thieves guild rebellion is handling things either. She bore Boniface's son in secret, and hid her away on a hidden Penchura Island to the South called Isla Amazo. There she seeded the start of the Alzati Assassins. She is using them to take out priority targets, silently. She wishes that one day, Penchura will once again be free from oppression.

David Theago - Son to Ezra Saul Theago. He looks up to his father with respect, seeing him as the savior of the kingdom. He is being trained to be a General in the Empire. He hopes to one day to be half the man his father is to him and serve the Peoples of Xantonia.

Jezebel Calliopa - Daughter to Sultana Calliopa, and unknown to her; Boniface. All her life, she has been raised to hate men, due to the prejudice of her mentors and peers. She has been trained since a child in the art of killing people. Her tactical mind and her OCD allow her to be very proficient in what she does.

Alexander - Hasn't aged a day since last he was with the PC's. He questioned his feelings for Tessa 15 years ago. By the time he realized how he felt about her, Armegeddon happened, and he thought he lost Tessa forever. Now he keeps tabs on Tanamura in the memory of Tessa, worried about her cousin and her newish husband. He doesn't fully trust Espion. He also has kept in contact with his Estra Clan, the Shadowrack, which is now behind enemy lines south of the wall.

Lycan, Former King - Lycan did not die in Armegeddon, but he was in ground zero. He lost all memory of his former self and got lost in Simya, fighting the wolf inside of him. Not understanding what was happened to him, he has formed his own coven in Simya of Lycanthropes. His animal side combined with his amnesia has driven him insane. He now prowls the forests of Simya prowling unsuspecting wanderers.

Priors - Seven Priors remain in the world. They have lost all direct access to Tattuvam, and are now seeking a means of regaining it. In the south and Xantonia they are hunted by the Samrajya and Xantonians respectively, so they stick to Kingdom of the North Territory. However, some are bold enough to venture south and east, to find artifacts of value. They are quietly spreading their religion to people to try and gain followers. Even going so far as helping the North win battles.

He is well versed in the exploits of the PC's.

Stribro'ohen - The Son of Privni'Sopka. This Dragon is unlike any other it seems. In fifteen years it has grown much faster than other dragons do. He now has a 35 foot wing span. To top it off, his red hue has started turning metalic, and his fires have started burning blue. He has gained favor for certain folks of the world of men. It was the PC's who saved him and came to visit him all those years ago. To his father, he has an unnatural obsession with the world of men.... a fire that has not been tempered. He is put at odds against his brethren, who have gotten exited over the appearance of the Primordial god in recent years.

He keeps a journal with him that details everything he knows about the Shield of the Brotherhood.

Story Goals-

Restoring Daksina- This maybe the most difficult. The PC's have lost almost all influence over the world. Estrada is still standing strong, however neutral. And assuming command over it again via Haldis may be met with hostilities from Rayna and Sacha.

Xantonia is another matter. Ezra Theago has spent the past 15 years rebuilding the Xantonian Empire back to its former glory. He has gained a lot of influence with the Xantonian people. When Boniface tries to reclaim his throne, Theago will graciously step aside... but only ceremonially. He is convinced that he knows what is best for his people. If necessary he will work behind the curtain. His biggest concern is disappointing his son.

Tanamura is a whole other beast. Espion has taken command of the Throne and has married Rachael to solidify his position. He is not prepared to give it up under the pretence that it will bring the North down upon them as he is the Warden of the West. His true motivation is to not only keep this power, but to gain even more.

Chelton is little more than farmland and vineyards now. Getting people behind Lilias will be difficult, as they now lack the infrastructure to be independent now. The Order of the Blue rose will back Lilias... but that is almost it for support.

Truth be told, the Kingdom of the North has a firm grasp on Northern Daksina. The same can be said with the Samrajya for South Daksina.

The Shadowwrack Clan will be the most cooperative with the PC's.

Ending the Primordial threat- The PC's will soon learn that Priors still exist in the world and are using their influence to shape the world in subtle ways. Their end goal is to not only regain their connection to Tattuvam... but bring back the Primordials to the world. Throughout the campaign, they will summon Primordials that the PC's may have to deal with. Great Mythical beasts. The threat of the return of Velkynicitel is ever looming, and there doesn't seem to be any way to stop it. However, it is said that Brotherhood can repel it. However it will soon be learned that it was not the Sword of the Brotherhood that the prophecy foretold... but the Shield of the Brotherhood. Also, the PC's must at some point find Rook, Lilith and Azdin to combat the Primordial threat.

The Shield of the Brotherhood - A legend lost in time for the most part. The likeness in name to the Sword has caused people to assume that they were one in the same. However, a shield does exist and it is key to saving the world. The PC's must uncover clues in order to find where it is located. This will take them on an arduous journey, wroth with perils. The Shield is said to be able to repel against magic as well as it repels against physical attack.

The Minions of un-Death - Ghate plans on using an artifact from the Sky Sanctuary to raise the entire armies of the  Umirty forrest. He is biding his time and perhaps influencing the 3 Empires to clash in battle. Maybe he needs something.

Rise of the Dragons - The Dragon Population in Natuna has become restless in the wake of Armageddon. They are becoming more active now than they ever have been, desperate to find wealth and death to appease Velkynicitel before his return. This has caused a rise in dragon slayers.

Restoring the Moon - Without a moon, the world is in danger of dying out. It may not be today, but it will happen. They must find a way to restore the moon to bring balance to nature.
