PC's goto the Last Sanctuary.

They free the people by unlocking the Phylactery of Leadership.

Using it to Free the Monkey King, they unwittingly free the Gods of War from the Last Sanctuary.

The Monkey King Pursues.

The PC's escape from a dying Sanctuary.

They arrive to a home where time is unraveling and events are happening in the wrong order.

EXPLINATION!!!!!!!

Everyone is led to believe that it is the Gods of War that are soley to blame for the unraveling on the universe. However the Monkey King... or the Time Blazer that is also responsible... and in actuality... the PC's themselves.

This whole adventure is a Paradox. What causes the Paradox are events that happen in the Paradox. It creates itself so to speak.

You could say that it is an Anti-Time Reaction.

See, Skyrin the Time Blazer (The Monkey King) chases the Gods of War throughout time and Paradox using the staff he obtained in the Last Sanctuary. Eventualy, this will lead to a Climatic battle between Kyros and Skyrin, where Kyros will break the staff that Skyrin is using against him. This event causes the Paradox War. The staff that Skyrin was using was a very very very special staff.

The Chrono Cudgel:

A Staff of extraordinary power. It was originaly sealed away in the Last Sanctuary with all the surviving "Derelict Weapons" of Time and Space.

It is the Ultimate stage of a Chrono Wizard's Staff. It is infact  the final form of the Pen of Intervus, Intervus' primary tool. Over the years he has assimilated other lost Chrono Wizard's knowllege into it. Most notably...

The Staff of Chronus, wielded by Chronus and then Thalador Kaveroth.

The Staff of Magnus, wield by two versions of himself.

The Staff of Tempus, wielded by Tempus and Gavindor Kel Amon.

The Chrono Cudgel had grown in Temporal knowllege from all four of its predicessors, that a future version of Intervus deemed it too much for anyone and sealed it away in the Final Sanctuary... a place that no one could get in and out of.

It was an object of such extraordinary temporal knowllege energy, that it's destruction would, is, did and will ripple throughout all of Time and Space, unraveling it. The Event would be called the Ultimate Retribution.

Anyways... The Destruction of the Chrono Cudgel unravels space and time, working in all directions (Forward, backwards, down, left, right, up and down) in time. It would cause the circumstances that started the Paradox War to happen and perpetually cause itself over and over again.

This causes an issue for the Universe of course. There is no keeping it from started, as it already happened. And there is no stopping its end, because it already ended.
